Molly’s Nursery

A little background, we didn’t know the gender going into delivery. Molly was a big surprise (found out we were pregnant when Christopher was four months old), and I figured it’d just be fun to not know the gender. And it didn’t take too much convincing with Chris. 🙂 So I had fun designing and decorating this nursery. We got the furniture from old neighbors who were going to be bunking their boys. I picked a nice gray paint, and figured teal would be the main color but I’d throw in yellows and other colors as I went. Here’s what I ended up with!

And now for where everything came from… white shelves are from Target, owl is from TJ Maxx (was originally black, I spray painted white). Dog Hooks are from Ikea, sock monkey is from Cracker Barrel (ha!), bird mobile I made using this pattern, whale canvas prints I made looking at this from another artist on etsy (I can’t find her original listing now), I made the “Man’s Best Friend” print in Photoshop and had it printed on canvas, the owl print I bought here on etsy, the bird tin artwork is from Michaels, Bike canvas print is from TJ Maxx, “Don’t Forget to Be Awesome” was purchased from this shop on etsy, and the ballerina clock I bought here.

I also bought a glider in white wood and then made a slipcover for it in the same fabric as the lampshade on the changing table… but then I moved it into Christopher’s room and got the nice one out of his room. It’s waaaay more comfortable (expensive gliders are SO worth the money!).

I had a blast decorating Molly’s room. Oh and her bedding is Pottery Barn’s Harper bedding in aqua. And yes, I have plans to add the “O” to her name. I need more materials, they were purchased this week. But I’m busy working on Nana’s furniture right now.

The Peacocks are Here!!

So excited. SO excited. The email saying my peacock prints were shipped said it could take up to 21 business days… So I thought I would get them after Thanksgiving! But they arrived today! In a nice tube style mailer, keeping the prints nice and safe. Aahhhhhh!! Eeeeee!! They’re here!

So without further ado… Feast your eyes

Please ignore poor lighting and laundry baskets. I’m just too excited to wait. And all night as we laid on the couch watching tv, Chris kept catching me staring at my peacocks. They’re just perfect. So so perfect. I absolutely love them!

What do you think? You like? Have you ever felt so strongly about artwork you put up?!

You know what’s so cool?? I started a project about peacocks with my 3rd graders today. So I’ll post the pics in a month or so when they’re done. But it really does just make me that much more excited! 🙂
